Card border rarity was released on February 28th, 2022. We learned that there are five different border styles for pixl pets. This is probably the largest factor in aesthetic rarity and relative monetary value for aesthetics. I give a brief sampling below.

Note that the percentages I give here are not the same as the ones you'll see in the "properties" section on OpenSea. This is because OS includes unhatched eggs in their percentages. I only used hatched eggs in my calculations and I extrapolate from there. OpenSea makes everything look more rare than it actually is. I am calculating this way to give you a better estimate of the whole collection.

Common borders (55% of all pets)

These are the original borders and feature a different color for each element. No premium is paid for common border pets.

Silver Borders (24% of all pets)

In my opinion, these look best on the fire and earth pets. Virtually no price premium is paid for a silver border.

For gold borders and beyond, we do usually see a premium in price. These premiums can be much greater when the pets also feature rare T5 moves.

Gold Borders (12% of all pets)

I think these look best on the water and air pets. Small premiums are usually paid for gold pets relative to common/silver, perhaps around 10-20%.

Prismatic Borders (7% of all pets)

I think these all look amazing. Premiums of around 30-40% are typical.

Holographic Borders (2% of all pets)

Once again, the artwork on these is incredible. Even for those without a any rare moves, premiums of 400-500% of floor are typical.
