# Introduction to Pet Rarity

So how do we know if our pixl pets are rare? The short answer is that we don't *really* know. We won't know the true rarity of our pets until stats (attack, defense, speed, etc.) of our pixl pets are released. There will be three components to rarity (Moves, Aesthetic Traits, and Stats). **We will not have any official rarity rankings until stats are released.**

For now, we can determine rarity based on two factors: Move Traits and Aesthetic Traits. These two factors will be the main focus of this rarity section.

The easiest place to start is with the most obviously rare pets: the deitys. These are essentially the Gods of the Pixlverse. At the time of this writing, only three have been revealed. One deity remains to be hatched from the fire genesis eggs.

So what useful information about the deitys do we know? These are the only genesis pets with more than one element. As such, these are the only genesis pets with **moves** from more than 1 element. We also have leaked information that the deity movesets were handpicked:

So we know the deity moves will be very good because they are the moves that the best pets in the game use. I will come back to the deitys later - time to dig deeper into move rarity.
